Seeking Multi-Age Classroom Teacher for the 2024-2025 School Year
Job Overview
Magnolia Cooperative Preschool is now accepting teacher applications for its Multi-Age Classroom (Ages 3 months – 6 Years) for our 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for a caring, creative, and enthusiastic individual who believes young children thrive in a play-based environment. The Multi-Age Classroom (MAC) is an all-ages classroom available on an hourly basis for caregivers who are working in another class on site at the preschool, or for caregivers needing additional child care during the week.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the other classroom Teachers to create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment
- Teach a small number of students of varying ages
- Maintain Classroom Adult:Child ratios (varies depending on age of children, ex: for children ages 3-5 the ratio is 1 Adult to 5 Children)
- Lead age-appropriate activities for the children in the classroom
- Create engaging, age-appropriate play stations and activities
- Model positive interactions
- Interact positively with parents and help to accommodate each child’s needs
- Maintain a clean, inclusive classroom environment
Schedule
- The MAC classroom is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with the exception of Thursdays where the hours are 9:00 AM-12:30 PM, and 1:00 PM-3:00 PM
- Magnolia Cooperative Preschool follows the Seattle Public School Schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent amount of experience working with preschool age children.
- Experience in a cooperative preschool setting is a plus
- Ability to develop age-appropriate curriculum and activities for children emphasizing play-based learning
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both children and adults
- Enthusiasm for, and commitment to, the collaborative nature of a cooperative school
- Ability and comfort to move frequently between different physical classroom stations (kitchen, play areas, circle time, etc.) and position self to interact with children in these areas
- First Aid and CPR certifications, or ability to obtain prior to start date

Magnolia Cooperative Preschool works to not only provide a play-based cooperative preschool experience for children, but also educates parents in the principles of early childhood education through parent education meetings and the collaborative assistant teaching model.
