Our 4’s Class

The Woodland Park 4’s program is best described as a progressive, play-based curriculum, one that starts from the premise that children learn best when given the opportunity to freely engage with the world around them, pursuing their own passions and curiosities in a community setting.

Children in this class are 4 and 5 years old, and turn 4 years old by August 31st of the school year of enrollment.

The class meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parent meetings are one evening per month.

Our outdoor classroom is designed for large motor exploration, in-depth dramatic play, investigating plants and living creatures, building, tinkering, and creating art. The outdoor space includes a garden, sand pit, water pump, and playground equipment as well as a workbench. Indoor play activities typically include art projects, a sensory table, games, and imaginative play.

Our teacher is Tom Hobson.
